Paediatric First Aid Courses (Care for Children)
At Headway Training Solutions, we know it is sometimes stressful enough when working with young children, so if an accident does happen you want to be prepared. With our Paediatric First Aid courses (Care for Children), we will equip you with essential knowledge so that you feel confident to deal with any emergency situations that may arise.
With new nursery and pre-school staff being required to undertake paediatric first aid training under new government proposals, this course focuses on emergency scenarios that are faced by Professionals, including Teachers, Playgroup leaders, Foster Carers or anyone looking after young children.
This Paediatric First Aid (Care for Children) course has been developed to meet these requirements set out in The Practice Guidance in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets out the first-aid training requirements for Ofsted-regulated child-care settings. It meets Ofsted requirements for registered childminders and the requirements for nannies under the Approved Carers Scheme. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
The Care for Children course content is based on guidelines from the Paediatric Working Group of ILCOR.
This course is for people working with younger children up to eight years old or those working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education.
The course covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.

The Emergency First Response Care for Children course is an innovative CPR, AED and First Aid training course that teaches you how to provide emergency care for injured or ill infants and children. You’ll learn the types of medical emergencies children face and how they differ from adult conditions.
The course also addresses the emotional aspects of caring for children, secondary care for children and preventing common injuries and illnesses in children.
The course includes both CPR and first aid skills.
The primary care portion of the course prepares you to render aid to an infant or child with a life-threatening emergency such as choking or cardiac arrest. Secondary care focuses on developing secondary patient care skills and building your confidence to give first aid to an infant or child in need.
